Authors’ Instructions

Length and Formatting

Authors can choose the most appropriate length for their contribution amongst two formats: 

  • Short papers (max 4000 words, typically for poster or demo presentation) should report novel work in progress or research that is best communicated in an interactive format; 
  • Long papers (max 10000 words, typically for oral in-person) should present a substantial contribution to the research field. 

The word limit includes all tables, acknowledgements, and appendices. References are not counted. 

The length of the abstract should be 150-200 words. 

 

Peer Review

All submissions will be fully peer-reviewed. The review process is double-blind with each submission receiving three reviews. Please submit completely anonymized drafts in PDF format. Please do not include any identifying information, and refrain from citing authors' prior work in anything other than the third person. 

 

Template

All papers must be created according to ACM templates available for both Word and LaTex: https://authors.acm.org/proceedings/production-information

We highlight that, in previous AM editions, the submission was made in a two-column format; but the new ACM authoring system advises using the single-column format.

 

Supplementary Materials

We encourage authors to attach additional supplementary materials such as audio/video examples, data sets, or measurements. For review, you can include anonymized links to cloud services or similar. For the camera-ready version, any such temporary links must be replaced by persistent links with handle/DOI or similar. Alternatively, you can upload supplementary material with your submission. 

 

Presentation format 

Upon paper submission, authors will have the possibility to give their preferences for oral, poster, or demo presentations. The final presentation mode will be based on the review process and program constraints and will be communicated to the authors upon acceptance. 

You can hand in a paper with an accompanying demo that is presented in addition to a talk or poster. In this case, you have to submit the required supplementary data as described in the call for demos. 

 

Camera-ready papers

Please finish your camera-ready papers by May 16, 2025.

This will require the following steps:

  • Revise your paper
  • Please improve your paper by taking into account the scientific and editorial corrections/suggestions you have received from reviewers.
  • Please take responsibility for a final spell check and language-style correction before submitting your camera-ready paper.
  • Make sure that you stay within the maximum page limit for your category (short/long paper). See Call for Papers.
  • Please adhere to the in-text citation style and reference format guidelines provided by the ACM. If you do not, your paper will be returned to you for proper formatting.
  • Also, make sure that you are using the correct template. See Call for Papers. Set up the ACM template for production mode (as opposed to submission mode).
  • Please import the required indexing concepts for your article from the ACM Computing Classification System (CCS). You can use the following web-based indexing support tool which generates the necessary TeX/XML code once you have selected your terms to insert in your LaTeX/Word templates.
  • For your camera-ready submission, please include ‘alt-text’ for your images to improve the accessibility of your work. Details on how to write alt-text in Word or Latex can be found here: https://authors.acm.org/journals/how-to-write-alt-text-and-why.

 

Optional upload of supplementary data

Zenodo.org offers free permanent storage of research data with permanent digital object identifiers (DOIs). It is perfectly suited to refer to supplementary material from within your camera-ready paper, therefore recommended by AM'25.

If you have any research data that is coupled to your publication (e.g., data sets, appendices, source code, GitHub repositories, etc.), you can upload it there and include the DOI in your paper.

The procedure is as follows:

 

Update metadata in CMT

Update abstract, authors, and title in CMT if something has changed. 

 

Upload files to CMT 

Update the PDF of the final paper via CMT.

 

ACM Digital Library information

After paper acceptance, the ACM ICPS publication process will be initiated. You will then receive directly from the ACM a copyright form, the correct rights management and bibliographic information text to add to your paper (incl. ISBN, DOI), and further instructions.
