Reaching Milan from the airports

Milan has three airports, served by different airlines.

  • Linate (LIN) City Airport: Located 20 minutes from the city center, connected by the blue metro line M4 (2.20€).
  • Malpensa (MXP) Airport: Approximately 1 hour from the city center by train (13.00€) or bus (10.00€).
  • Bergamo – Orio al Serio (BGY) Airport: About 1 hour from the city center by bus. It's served by various bus companies, including Orio Shuttle (12.00€) and Terravision (10.00€).

You can reach the conference

By Train:

  • You can reach Lambrate Station using suburban trains, or other regional trains (IT: "treno regionale"). Lambrate is one station away from Centrale Station. If you look for train stations on Google Maps, mind that 'FS' (Ferrovie dello Stato) generally denotes them.

By Metro:

  • From Piola (Green Line, M2): A 12-minute walk.
  • From Lambrate (Green Line, M2): A 13-minute walk.

Public transportation in Milan

Public transportation in Milan is usually efficient and cost-effective. Detailed information on how to get to Milan is available here.

Taxis are expensive and not always immediately available. Expect to pay around 30€ from Linate Airport and 110-120€ from the other airports. For detailed taxi fare information, visit this page.

Metro system is very efficient, and moving around Milan through the subway is very easy. On the website you can find a map of the subway lines. Single tickets cost 2.20€. You can buy a ticket in various ways:

  • In most metro stations, you can simply access through your credit card
  • You can find tickets in some newsstands
  • Ticket machines at many metro stations
  • You can purchase tickets through the ATM Milano app.
  • You can send an SMS to 4880488 with the text ATM. You will receive the single run ticket as a link pointing to a QR code.

Bike Sharing and Electric Scooters are provided by various dealers. The bike sharing service provided by the Municipality of Milan can be found here.

Concert

The concert will be held at Fabbrica del Vapore, on September 18th.

The concert avenue is located in Via Giulio Cesare Procaccini, 4, 20154 Milano MI, Italy.

Ways to get there:

  • From the conference avenue, using metro: Metro M2 from "Piola" to "Garibaldi", then Metro M5 from "Garibaldi" to "Monumentale". Approx 35 minutes, including 18 minutes of walking.
  • From the conference avenue, using tram: Tram line 33 from "Via Pascoli P.Za L. Da Vinci" to "Via Farini Via Ferrari". Approximately 40 minutes, including 16 minutes of walking.

Social Dinner

The social dinner will be held at Ristorante Caciara, on September 19th.

Ways to get there:

  • From Centrale FS: 14 minutes walk.
  • From the conference avenue, using tram: Tram line 33 from "Via Bassini Via Ponzio" to "Porta Venezia Viale Tunisia". Approx. 19 minutes, including 9 minutes of walking.
  • From the conference avenue, using the metro: Metro M2 from "Piola" to "Loreto", then Metro M1 until "Porta Venezia". Approx. 25 minutes, including 14 minutes of walking.
